Joining an ambitious and dynamic project, you will be part of the GP project team in Ghent as an Electrical Project Engineer for the scope related to adaptations in the existing Steel Shop. You will handle major sub-projects and work closely with the project managers/engineers in the team “Adaptations Steel Shop”:
The implementation of the new Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) Steelmaking process will significantly impact our existing assets and operations. To ensure logistical alignment with the new EAF plant, our current Steel Shop will require both a series of substantial change projects as the erection of new Ladle Furnace (LF) for important metallurgical treatment of the EAF steel. The change projects will address key challenges, such as the heavy-load transport of hot metal and steel, the relocation of large existing assets, and the modification and rerouting of blocking structures, among others. The new LF scope includes the erection of a new ladle furnace and the associated material handling, water cooling and dedusting plant. The scope of these projects will be built entirely within the existing facilities of the Steel Shop, making it a real brownfield challenge.
