Instrument Supervisor

We are seeking an experienced Instrument Supervisor to oversee all instrumentation activities on a large-scale industrial construction project in Belgium.
The role is responsible for supervising installation, calibration, testing, and commissioning of instruments, ensuring compliance with project specifications, QA/QC requirements, and safety procedures. The Instrument Supervisor will coordinate with multiple disciplines and subcontractors to ensure timely and efficient completion of instrumentation works.
Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate all field instrumentation activities, including installation, loop checks, calibration, and pre-commissioning.
Review and interpret P&IDs, instrument loop diagrams, hook-up drawings, datasheets, and technical specifications.
Ensure compliance with project QA/QC standards, technical specifications, and safety procedures.
Interface with mechanical, electrical, and commissioning teams to resolve technical issues and support system integration.
Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure adherence to project timelines and quality requirements.
Maintain daily progress reports, documentation, and commissioning records.
Identify material, equipment, and tool requirements, coordinating with procurement or stores.
Troubleshoot and resolve instrumentation issues during installation and commissioning phases.
Support pre-commissioning and commissioning of control systems, ensuring functional loop verification and operational readiness.
Requirements
Diploma or Degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, or related engineering field.
Minimum 5–10 years of experience in instrumentation for oil & gas, petrochemical, or industrial projects.
Familiarity with international standards such as ISA, IEC, API, and experience with DCS, PLC, SCADA systems.
Strong knowledge of safety procedures, PTW, and site work permit systems.
Proven leadership and team coordination skills.
Fluent written and spoken English; additional languages are a plus.
Strong technical knowledge of instrumentation systems and field installation practices.
Ability to coordinate multiple subcontractors and disciplines simultaneously.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities.
Strong documentation and reporting skills.
High attention to detail and quality.
Predominantly field-based role, working on site for the majority of the working hours.
Ability to operate in an industrial construction environment, including lifting, climbing, and confined space access when required.
